Searching for Apollo

Alistair Morrison’s Searching for Apollo was inspired by his desire to capture and celebrate the spirit of rock and roll legends in a way that reflects both their cultural impact and personal legacy. Morrison sought to create portraits that move beyond simple likenesses, aiming to reveal deeper truths about his subjects' enduring influence on music and popular culture.

The title Searching for Apollo refers to the Greek god Apollo, symbolising the pursuit of artistic and creative ideals. Morrison photographed iconic musicians - including Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, Tom Jones, Alice Cooper and Roger Daltrey - in a modern interpretation of classical themes, connecting their powerful personas with timeless mythological archetypes.

This film captures the scale and allure of the piece as it was unveiled at an event hosted by Roger Daltrey, benefiting the Teenage Cancer Trust, at the V&A.
